Job summary
An exciting administrative opportunity has arisen within the Surgery and Gastrointestinal Directorate for a Waiting List Officer. This role will support across CTMUHB with an agreed base site.
The Waiting List Officer will support the Administration Manager and be responsible for the day-to-day patient pathway validation with a remit for undertaking detailed patient level accurate and robust information to support performance reporting, high data quality and to assist in managing patients' through their SCP (Single Cancer Pathway) & RTT (Referral to Treatment) pathway.
This post is vital to support across the Health Board with delivery of the Single Cancer Pathway and elective recovery of RTT performance within Surgery, Breast, Vascular, Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. The appointee will be required to validate patient pathways, support with SCP delivery, RTT recovery programme, liaise with multi-disciplinary team members in pathway planning and actioning patients accordingly.
The Waiting List Officer will work independently as work is managed rather than supervised and provide support to the Administration Manager and Clinical Service Team by ensuring patients pathways are reflected correctly on the Patient Administration System (WPAS and Qliksense).
Main duties of the job
The Waiting List Officer will be responsible for the validation of RTT pathways, Single Cancer Pathways (SCP) and FUNB lists. The post holder will update WPAS system to reflect cancer performance, accurate patient pathways including the use of non WPAS events to stop or restart clocks, updating activity outcomes. Update follow up outcomes, pathway event and preferred session to correctly inform the Follow up booking wizard lists. The post holder will need to ensure all actions taken in the process of validation are clearly annotated and dated on the WPAS system for audit trail purposes.
The post holder will provide Operational Managers with a weekly update of validation work carried out. This should include details of current and future month end patients.
The post holder will assist the Service Team by monitoring targets in RTT, Cancer, and FUNB and escalate the issues appropriately.
The post holder will be required to support the Service Manager & Support Managers, in arranging of additional activity to support waiting list initiatives.
