Job summary
The post holder will contribute to a 24 hour a day 7 day a week provision of emergency care by providing direct support to the nursing/medical team responsible for patient care and undertake, according to guidelines, policies and procedures, specific interventions for patients as instructed by members of the medical team or the nursing team.
Works unsupervised to established standard operating procedures, supervision is available at when required. Adheres to Cwm Taf UHB Policies and Procedures.
Main duties of the job
Undertake direct and indirect patient care related tasks as trained and assessed as competent as instructed by a doctor or registered nurse for example: venepuncture, insertion and removal of intravenous cannula, record electrocardiogram (no interpretation) and other physiological measurements.
Adhere to infection control policy at all times.
Understand and practice a range of routine procedures, which require a basic theoretical level of knowledge, e.g. the principles of infection control.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
