The Medicines Management directorate at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed pharmacist to join our pharmacy team based at the Princess of Wales Hospital.
In this stimulating role you will join a fantastic team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and support staff to build on your previous experience. You will have the opportunity to develop greater autonomy and responsibility whilst providing Medicines Management services to specialty areas such as Acute Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Cardiology Medicine, Paediatrics and Surgery. You will also provide sessional support to the dispensary. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be able to work well as part of a team.
The Princess of Wales site has established pharmacist led clinics and pharmacists are valued members of the clinical multidisciplinary teams.
This post would be ideal for a newly qualified pharmacist looking to start their hospital pharmacy career or for a pharmacist looking to change sectors.
Main duties of the job
Main duties include:
- Providing a pharmaceutical care service to patients on wards at the Princess of Wales Hospital.
- Participate in the rotational training programme throughout the pharmacy department and undertake the postgraduate pharmacy diploma if appropriate.
- Participate in the provision of dispensary services to patients.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council
- Postgraduate qualification in clinical or hospital pharmacy
- oAccredited Tutor for the Cardiff University Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or able to be accredited).
Desirable
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
- Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) in cardiology
- Member of the RPS Faculty or working towards Faculty membership
