Job summary
This is a fixed term temporary post, offering an exciting opportunity to develop the critical care psychology service equitably across the three sites and to scope the psychological needs of some of the specialist patients that come through ICU. We are a friendly and growing team of psychologists and assistant psychologists in critical care working within the wider health psychology department. Our critical care colleagues are very receptive to the input from psychology and the wider MDT works closely together. If you are passionate about improving trauma-informed care and developing services with physical health patients, this could be the job for you! We are looking for someone who is flexible, dynamic and enjoys working as part of a team but is also confident to work autonomously. Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a team cover the psychological pathway from admission to ICU to discharge and community follow-up. Providing psychological assessments and therapy services directly to patients and their families who have suffered a critical illness.
To identify which of those patients in critical care have complex, severe, challenging psychological problems which require the specialist interventions provided by clinical psychologists.To construct psychological formulation of each patient's difficulties and develop an individualised intervention and management plan.
These services may be to individuals, groups, relatives, carers and other people as appropriate.
The services could be provided at a range of locations such as NHS centres and other sites as appropriate.
This post is fixed term / secondment for 12 months due to the needs of the service.
