Dietitian (Band 5)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Dietitian to join our forward thinking, supportive and motivated team of community Dietitians. The post is based at the Glanrhyd Hospital, Bridgend. It is a full time and permanent position.
The successful candidates will be joining an innovative and forward thinking team who are part of a dynamic Dietetic department of over 90 dietitians.
This post will give you the opportunity to develop your skills working within our Home Enteral Feeding and Community Nutrition Support Team within Bridgend.
The role will be supervised by our Band 7 Community Lead working mainly within the clinical areas of dementia and frailty services in Bridgend and include domiciliary visits, community hospital sites, outpatient clinics (virtual and face to face), group education sessions and training of other professionals. Multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working will be encouraged.
Main duties of the job
To support the provision of health care, to the people of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board catchment area.
To have clinical responsibility for a varied caseload made up of adult community patients on enteral feeding and/or oral nutritional supplements. Also outpatient work including general adult dietetic clinics or group education sessions.
To work as part of a multidisciplinary community team which will include medical, nursing, therapy and catering staff and other colleagues and agencies both within the hospital and the community.
To work autonomously and work within professional policies, standards and conduct as laid down by the British Dietetic Association, the Health Care Professions Council and Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board Dietetic Department.
Works within clearly defined organisational policies, work is managed rather than supervised.
These posts sit within the teams based at Glanrhyd Hospital and Pontypridd Cottage Hospital however due to the nature of the role you will be required to deliver services to patients across the whole of Cwm Taf University Health Board therefore, the ability to travel throughout the geographical area in a timely manner is essential.
