Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our friendly, busy Interventional and Cardiology Catheter Lab team at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
Radiology has Philips equipment in both the Interventional Suite and Cardiology Catheter Laboratory. The Cardiology Catheter Laboratory was refurbished in September 2016 and provides services for diagnostic studies and complex device implants. There have also been discussions for a future PCI service in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
The Interventional Suite was fully refurbished in 2013 and provides imaging for complex cases to include Biliary, Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary Interventions, in addition to general Fluoroscopy studies such as MSK injections, HSG procedures, Sialography and line placement.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board hosts the National Imaging Academy Wales which provides us with excellent future development opportunities for our staff. We actively support monthly internal CPD meetings, regularly support external training for staff and we are keen to develop you professionally.

There are 2 available posts:
Post one: Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00/08:30-16:30.
Post two: Participation in our Radiology shift system which involves a mix of 12 hour day and night duties and 7.5 hour shifts covering Monday-Sunday. Out of hour duties will be worked in CT and general x-ray.
Main duties of the job
To work as a Senior Radiographer providing care for patients within the Interventional Suite, Catheter Lab and General X-Ray departments, working without direct supervision, reporting to the Superintendent Radiographers within the Department.
To plan and prioritise workload and patient lists, organising the Interventional room on a daily basis in conjunction with the wider multidisciplinary teams.
To work closely with Radiologists, Radiology Nurses, Cardiologists and the Cardiology Nursing team within these busy and dynamic environments.
Good communication skills are essential to ensure an effective and safe service to the patients in our care. The successful candidate will be required to liaise with staff across the Health Board and to provide help and instruction to other members of staff within the Department.
Experience and an understanding of the Clinical Audit process is an essential requirement of the post and involvement in departmental audits is encouraged.
The Radiology Directorate supports training and development of staff and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to train and mentor Radiographers and student Radiographers within their specialised roles.
