An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a new programme evaluating the effectiveness and value delivered by Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs). ATMPs are innovative therapies that include gene therapies, cell therapies and tissue engineered products. A Welsh Government funded programme has been established within NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee (NWJCC) to investigate the clinical and cost effectiveness of ATMPs through the collection and analysis of outcomes data. This data will support decisions on how Wales can sustainably provide ATMPs today, and into the future. The post will be situated within the Medical Directorate at NWJCC, which has an important and varied role, including evidence evaluation, medicines management and policy development.
This Programme is funded by Welsh Government as part of their support to embed a value-based healthcare approach at a system level across NHS Wales.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide comprehensive data management, administrative and project support to the Programme Manager to ensure successful delivery of projects and workstreams within the ATMP Outcomes Programme. The responsibilities will include:
- Support the evaluation of the effectiveness, cost effectiveness and utility of ATMPs.
- Collect, manage, analyse and report outcomes data from patients who have received, or are about to receive an ATMP, as well as retrospective comparator data sets utilising local and national databases.
- Create and maintain accurate manual and electronic data collection systems, ensuring the clinical data source, collection, entry and transfer of information is of the highest standard.
- Provide administrative and project support to an evolving programme, which includes meeting arrangements and minute taking as required.
As an accomplished member of the team, the ATMP Outcomes Research Facilitator will require relevant skills and experience in a research, data collection and analysis environment, in addition to a good level of knowledge in effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own workload and to work autonomously.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
