Job summary

We are looking for an highly motivated doctors to join the adult medicine team in Prince Charles Hospital from August 2024 to August 2025.

As a senior clinical fellow the post is to provide inpatient cover to the medical wards and contribute to an on call rota covering admissions and wards, as well as speciality cover including clinics, speciality referrals, endoscopy lists (where appropriate) and speciality procedures. Prior knowledge of these is not necessarily required beyond what would be expect at the end of CMT or IMT years 1-2.

This post is aimed at doctors looking for a post at either IM3 level or ST4+ level. It is expected that doctors applying for this post would be able to demonstrate completion of either Core Medical Training or Years 1-2 of internal medicine training. Doctors who have not been through this route can demonstrate equivalent competence via the Certificate of CMT competencies or Alternative Certificate to Enter Higher Training.

Main duties of the job

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR UPTO 12 MONTHS DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE

The role will cover all aspects of acute medical services working at registrar doctor grade. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who wish to gain wider experience in general medicine in an acute setting and help prepare them for higher training. The post holder will be required to work on the junior doctor on-call rota for Prince Charles Hospital. There will also be the opportunity to develop outpatient clinic experience as practical procedures, the post would enable the successful applicant to achieve the competencies needed to apply for training posts.
