Job summary
An exciting job vacancy has arisen at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board for an information governance professional to work in the Information Governance Team.
Working within the Digital Directorate, the post holder will help implement and monitor the Health Board's information governance work programme. This is a key role in supporting the organisation achieving its strategic ambitions in accordance with data protection legislation. They will also support the ongoing development and implementation of the Health Board's information governance framework, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
The post holder will support the Information Governance Manager and the comprehensive information governance agenda. The role will suit someone who has worked in a similar role in a large health, social care or similar setting and where information governance and Data Protection is a significant aspect or main responsibility of their current post. Highly motivated and looking for a new challenge in a dynamic and changing environment to help continue to embed compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Common Law Duty of Confidentiality.

Main duties of the job
The Information Governance Officer (IGO) will be responsible for the management of a range of information governance (IG) functions as part of the delivery of the Informatics strategy across the Health Board.
The post holder will be the lead specialist, acting as a contact point for a range of internal and external people in relation to information governance, and they will provide IG expertise identifying best practice and making recommendations for local implementation.
The post holder will manage the Information Governance Support Officer, and be work autonomously within CTMUHB policies and procedures

The post holder will:
- Support the Head of Information Governance in the development, implementation and maintenance of a corporate information governance framework and supporting policies, procedures and standards to enable compliance with relevant UK law and NHS standards.
- Lead in the development of Data Protection Impact Assessments.
- Manage personal data requests (including being the contact point with other organisations).
- Manage potential breaches of legislation.
- Assist in the development of information sharing agreements with partner organisations and third parties.
- Preparing statistics and papers for information governance and subcommittee meetings.
- Manage the IG response for any data breach or potential data breach incidents, including reporting to the Information Commissioner, as appropriate.
- Develop and participate with the Health Boards Information Governance audit programme.
- Assist with audits to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies and procedures.
- Lead on the management of the information asset register.
- Review policy and procedures to ensure they are relevant to UK and EU Law or NHS policy.
- Act as a model of good practice in information governance, with appropriate discretion in any sensitive areas of work.
