Job summary
Performs a wide variety of routine and non-routine duties in relation to the preparation and supply of medicines and related products for service users to support the pharmaceutical service and the medicines management agenda within HMP Parc.
The bank worker is expected to exercise a degree of autonomy and control in the performance of allocated duties within limits set by the Senior Pharmacy Technician and in accordance with departmental, Health Board and HMP Parc policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job
- Observes all CTMUHB policies e.g. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Health and Safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), No Smoking Policy etc.
- Observes all HMP Parc's policies and procedures.
- Complies with all departmental procedures.
- Carries out the technical, administrative and clerical duties, which relate to the preparation, supply and concordance in taking of medicines.
- Undertakes duties associated with the operation of the pharmacy and healthcare computer systems.
- Trains, supports and mentors Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants and other Pharmacy Technicians as directed by the Lead Pharmacy Technician.
