An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Health Care Support Worker to join the multidisciplinary Diabetes Team based at the Hummingbird Centre.
You will work alongside the Diabetes Specialist Nurses, Diabetes Specialist Dietician, Podiatrists and Consultants in a busy outpatient department supporting the needs of patients with Diabetes and Endocrine conditions.
We are looking for an individual who is driven to working in collaboration with patients, carers and other services to deliver individual, holistic and patient centred care.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Health Care Support worker to join our Diabetes team at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The post holder will be working as part of a dynamic, innovative, evolving service which provides the highest level of support and care for patients/clients within the RCT area.
The post holder will work as part of the diabetes resource centre team, under the supervision of registered nurses and supports them and other health care professionals by participating in the delivery of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the benefit of the person with diabetes.
The post holder will be expected to be self-motivated and use their initiative when necessary. The range of responsibilities will be in support of and supervised by a registered nurse in diabetes and will involve rotation as appropriate to the needs of the service.
The post holder will also have reception and clerical duties which will support the smooth and efficient running of the unit.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
