Job summary
The post holder will:
- Be responsible for the management a group of patients, and occasionally take charge of the ward/department, and its resources for the duration of their duty.
- Be responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Be responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Be responsible for the support and supervision of junior staff.
- Be responsible for maintaining accurate, current, comprehensive and concise records concerning the condition of the patient, in accordance with NMC Standards for Record & Record Keeping and the UHB's Patient Record Policy.
- Facilitate and contribute to the MDT meetings and other health professionals when planning patient care and or discharge.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for nurse with a keen interest in Palliative Care to join our team on a Permanent basis. This unique role is about caring for individual patients and their carer's and families. Our patients have life limiting conditions that may be with us for symptom control or end of life care. You will play a very important role in their good days, difficult days and last days.We are looking for compassionate, sensitive nurses who combine excellent clinical skills and risk management with a desire to provide quality basic nursing care and well developed communication skills.
Ideally sufficient post qualification experience and a genuine interest in palliative care are required.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
