Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, motivated team on a fixed-term contract. Ward 20 is a 22 bedded acute frail elderly ward caring for patients during the acute phase of their admission with a focus on assessing the needs of the patient and delivering high quality, individualised patient care.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and will be expected to undertake fundamental aspects of patient care. The role includes housekeeping duties, providing personal care to patients and ensuring the patients daily activities of living needs are met and to the highest of standards.
The successful candidate would be involved in motivating patients to achieve some adjusted level of independence and create stimulation to patients whilst they are in hospital.
The individual will be required to have good communication skills to be able to relate to patients, members of patients families and the multidisciplinary team that work within the clinical area.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 10 months to meet the needs of the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
