Job summary

Role of Senior Finance Manager within the Corporate Finance Team responsible for the financial accountancy team.

Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for the post of Senior Finance Manager in the Corporate Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who has energy, enthusiasm, commitment and ambition to work within the finance team.

The post holder will be a key member of the Finance team supporting the Corporate Finance function. The post holder will be responsible for managing the functions, performance, staff and other resources within the Financial Accounts Section, covering:

  • Financial Accounting including responsibility for year-end accounts, monthly monitoring returns, charitable funds, accounting for losses (including medical negligence and personal injury claims), VAT etc.
  • Treasury - cash and debtors management
  • Working closely with the systems & governance and capital teams.

They will support the Head of Corporate Finance in the management of the whole section and deputise in internal and external groups when required (e.g. All-Wales groups, Audit & Risk Committee, Finance Senior Management Team etc).

The post holder will have the full range of line management responsibilities over 2 team leaders and will be involved in any recruitment activity within the department, including the role of recruiting officer for many of the posts.
