Job summary
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Healthcare Science Practitioner (Cardiac Science) / Cardiac Physiologist wishing to further develop their skills within our rapidly developing Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic Units. The Cardiopulmonary diagnostic Services currently supports 10 Consultant Cardiologists across Prince Charles and Royal Glamorgan hospital sites and provides clinical support to some of the smaller Health board sites therefore employees must have ability to travel across the various sites to support service delivery.
Our units offer a broad range of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests, including a wide range of ambulatory monitoring HUTT, physiologist led /medically supervised ETT, Echocardiography, Cardiac Device implantation and follow-up ( pacemakers, resynchronisation and high voltage devices) as well as diagnostic Cardiac Catheterisation. As a Cardiac and respiratory dept we provide a full range of Respiratory testing.
Post holder must have BSc (Hons)in Healthcare Science (cardiac Science) or BSc in Clinical Physiology (Cardiac) or equivalent UK professional qualification to meet the requirements to apply for AHCS or RCCP registration.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of the team of Cardiac Physiologists / Healthcare Science staff based within the Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic Units across Cwm Taf Morgannwg hospital sites. This requires the post holder to carry out a broad range of diagnostic cardiac tests and procedures, both invasive and non-invasive.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all University Health Board (UHB) policies and procedures are observed, and meet the trust requirements contained in the Health and Safety Policy, to include COSHH and IRMER regulations.
The post holder will have the opportunity to develop, through IPR, their own knowledge and skills to benefit of the service.
The post holder will be a professional practitioner working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
