Job summary

The post holder will provide project and managerial support encompassing a broad range of activities across the CSG. This will involve providing project management support in a number of areas, including the monitoring and reporting of activity and waiting times information and data. This will involve evaluating project outcomes and providing recommendations for consideration.

The post holder will also provide support to the management of medical staffing rotas and management of administrative and clerical staff within the CSG.

This is fixed term contract for 4 months to cover the needs of the service

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Operational Support Manager within the Surgery & ACT Clinical Services Group at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.

We are seeking to appoint a well motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, safe effective and innovative services within the Surgery & ACT CSG in line with nationally & locally agreed standards.

In addition to the above, the post holder will require:

  • Excellent communication skills, forming close working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • Require excellent analytical skills to understand complex data, and the effects of implementing different options in different scenarios.
  • Provide and present complex, and sometimes contentious, information to Senior Managers and Clinicians in a way that is sensitive and understandable.
  • On occasion, deal directly with patients/clients and their carers on matters of a highly sensitive and confidential nature.
  • Ensure all staff are fully aware of patient's right to confidentiality at all times and promote good practice to support this.
  • Ensure that the medical rotas are completed in a timely and effective manner. & support the Admin Manager in sourcing cover for gaps.
