A newly funded and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated dietitian to provide specialist acute and emergency focused dietetic services to the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board population.
This is an exciting time for AHPs in CTMUHB - a time of exciting and progressive change, a time where we are looking for visionary team members at all levels to guide and implement this change.
This is a new post to provide front door dietetic services, as part of the Same Day Emergency Care model and also providing highly specialist dietetic care to stroke patients at Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend. The post holder will promote the early identification and treatment of malnutrition - preventing deterioration of malnutrition, frailty and sarcopenia.
The poster holder will provide education and training to front door teams to ensure timely nutritional screening upon admission and subsequent signposting to appropriate dietetic services, either in supporting a hospital admission or following an ambulatory care pathway in conjunction with community services.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will lead, co-ordinate and develop a specialist dietetic front door and stroke service to patients at Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.
- The role is to ensure nutrition is optimised throughout the Same Day Emergency Care model and stroke pathway to maximise patient outcomes.
- The post holder will be clinically responsible for providing specialist acute and emergency focused dietetic services to the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board population.
- To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based/client centred principles, (e.g. nutrition support and enteral feeding).
- To assess, plan, evaluate and implement Dietetic interventions in specialist inpatients and outpatient clinics.
- To work in partnership with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- BSc, Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent dietetic qualification with state registration
- MSc or its equivalent level of knowledge and advanced post graduate training/experience in specialist clinical dietetics
- Registered with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Evidence of post graduate study to diploma level or ongoing CPD in relevant specialism
- Evidence of or qualification in research and audit
- Evidence of clinical supervision
- Knowledge of the requirements of clinical governance
Desirable
- Member of the British Dietetic Association
- Member of BDA specialist interest groups or equivalent specialist interest group e.g. PENG, BAPEN
