If you are a dynamic, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist committed to the delivery of evidence based and recovery-focussed Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions in a community setting, we warmly welcome your application for this post.
The post is based within a well-established CMHT in Pentre (Rhondda) which understands the added-value occupational therapy brings to the MDT and service users. The role is supported by access to a 0.5wte Band 3 Occupational Therapy Support Worker, who also provides cover to the Taff Ely CMHT team.
You will carry a small, occupationally-focussed CTP caseload. The Job Plan for this post affords you the opportunity to deliver OT specific assessment and intervention in both individual and group settings, working with service users in their homes and a range of community sites. Consulting rooms can also be booked in Trealaw Resource Centre and Dewi Sant Health Park if required.
We offer a wide range of professional development opportunities and the opportunity to be involved in service evaluation and development - including audit, quality improvement initiatives and research. Professional supervision and peer support are well embedded in the OT service, and team members proactively engage in supporting each other.
This is an exciting time within Occupational Therapy and Mental Health services, and there is significant scope to contribute to how future services will be delivered across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
Main duties of the job
To case manage a small cohort of service users, presenting with occupational needs
Provide a specialist recovery focussed Occupational Therapy service for individuals with complex mental health needs - including occupationally focussed assessment and intervention, risk assessment and management, CTP case management and referral to other services as required
Provide expert advice and joint working for complex cases held by other members of the team and CMHT colleagues
To work with OT strategic leads and CMHT team managers to ensure equity and accessibility across Cwm Taf Morgannwg
Utilise highly specialist skills and expertise within the fields of rehabilitation, mental health and wellbeing, and productivity to promote recovery
Proactively engage in service development and evaluation processes, ensuring the delvery of robust, evidence based occupational therapy across mental health services
Contibute to the Occupational Formulation plans for service users accessing secondary care mental health services
