Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Special School Nurse is available. The base school for this post is Heronsbridge in Bridgend, however the post holder would need to be able to travel across the CTMUHB footprint and work in other schools as required.

It is a time of transition for the Special school nursing role and therefore the successful applicant would be pivotal to supporting these changes. The successful applicant should have excellent communication skills as they will be a member of the health team but working closely with a team in education.

The role is autonomous, varied and a passion for meeting the needs of the CYP in the special school setting is essential.

It would be advantageous to contact the Special school nursing team in Heronsbridge to get a better understanding of the role prior to applying for this post.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide nursing care to children and young people who have additional/complex needs within a Special School or Observation Unit within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board and will work within clearly defined occupational policies, codes of practice and professional guidelines.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
