Job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Senior doctor to join our dynamic, highly supportive, friendly Emergency Department based in Glangwili General Hospital.
This post is for senior level doctors within the ED team. The successful applicant would be expected to be the senior doctor on-site after-hours dealing with acutely unwell patients, be able to supervise and support resident staff, and help coordinate the flow of patients in the ED (with the support of the on-call ED consultant).
Main duties of the job
To participate in providing a service for Emergency Medicine to the hospital and community. The post holder will be designated with the responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness with your Consultant.
All clinical staff are accountable and responsible for their own clinical competence and should limit their actions to those for which they are deemed competent. Clinical staff are also required to comply with the requirements of their professional organisation regarding supervision.
As a senior employee of the Health Board the post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Health Board's patients.
The post holder will participate in regular audit meetings and postgraduate teaching sessions held by the appropriate Consultants.
