Hywel Dda University Health Board has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Flying Start team in the Carmarthenshire locality (part-time hours will be considered).
Flying Start is part of the Welsh Government's early years programme aimed at providing additional support services for children under 4 and their families living in disadvantaged areas of Wales.
The SLT will work alongside Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants in providing a service to children with speech, language and communication needs and their families. In addition, the team will work with all families, carers and Early Years staff in the Flying Start area to support the development of speech, language and communication in all children.
You will also be part of the wider Hywel Dda Health Board's team of Speech & Language Therapists working across the Health Board. This role will include the opportunity to contribute to service development, research and audit.

You will be involved in direct assessment and intervention, developing and implementing training packages for other professionals, liaising with key professionals across the Flying Start and Carmarthenshire footprint and representing our Health Board at local and regional events.
You will work in close collaboration with the local authority and nursery settings. There will be opportunities to network with other staff in education and health and to support the development of innovative service delivery options to engage children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
