As our Civil Contingencies Co-ordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how health services and multi-agency partners prepare for and respond to major incidents and emergencies. You'll be employed by the Health Board but based within Dyfed Powys Local Resilience Forum (LRF) - the partnership that brings together emergency services, local authorities, health bodies, and critical infrastructure providers to keep our communities safe.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act and emergency planning principles.
- Experience in resilience, risk management, or multi-agency coordination.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
Main duties of the job
Co-ordination and Collaboration: Act as the vital link between the Health Board(s) and DPLRF, ensuring health is fully integrated into regional resilience planning.
Plan for the Unexpected: Help develop and maintain multi-agency emergency plans, risk assessments, performance spreadsheets, and the Community Risk Register.
Drive Preparedness: Coordinate training, exercises, and partnership activities that strengthen our ability to respond to incidents.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.
