Hywel Dda University Health Board has an exciting opportunity for an Engagement Officer, with a focus on Ceredigion, as well as health board wide projects.

We are looking for someone who has the energy, enthusiasm and commitment to engagement. The role requires an experienced and competent professional with a developed skill set in engagement and consultation. The individual will be able to provide professional advice to managers, clinicians and other staff on a broad range of engagement issues.

This individual will plan and deliver engagement activities to provide a responsive service to staff and external stakeholders. This role involves working autonomously and prioritising your workload to ensure that all urgent matters are actioned.

A flexible approach to work is necessary as the post holder will be required to attend meetings outside of normal working hours when necessary.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of a small team of committed, enthusiastic professionals and will require the post holder to act with a degree of autonomy to:

- Play a key role in providing practical support and expertise around engagement on behalf of the department.

- Support the Engagement Manager and wider team in taking forward consultation and engagement exercises as part of the Health Board's health and care strategy and plans.

- Co-ordinate engagement activity across the health board area

- Deliver engagement with staff across the organisation; support and co-ordinate elements of the programme of continuous engagement on areas within their portfolio; which will provide the public with a range of ways of using their voice and getting involved in their NHS.

- Assist the implementation of innovative participatory engagement approaches making full use of traditional and new methods of engagement and involvement to engage staff, stakeholders, media and the public to build public confidence in the organisation and involve them in designing services and strategies.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.

We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.

Our services are provided in:

  • Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest
