Job summary
You will be responsible for providing clinical care at Senior Dental Officer level with a particular focus on special care dentistry, paediatric dentistry, sedation servicesand services for other vulnerable patient groups that meet the criteria for treatment in CDS.
You will assist the Clinical Director in the planning and delivery of Community Dental Services across Hywel Dda but with a particular focus on Ceredigion.
Main duties of the job
To provide dental treatment to patients within the remit of the Community Dental Service in dental clinics, hospitals and domiciliary settings, including driving between establishments and the transportation of appropriate equipment required for such visits.
This includes provisions under general anaesthesia and inhalation sedation for adults and children where appropriate.To provide preventive care and advice to individual patients and their carers. This may also include involvement in the development of oral health promotion services to groups of such patients, their carers or staff in conjunction with the Oral Health Team.To provide advice to and delegation of patient treatment to community dentists and dental auxiliary staff in cases where the specialised skills of a senior community dentist are not required.
