This post is a Fixed Term/ Secondment until 31.10.2027.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Deputy Team Leader to our well established team at Withybush Creche. The successful candidate will need a recognised Level 3 or above Childcare qualification and experience of childcare in a crche, nursery or school. Supervisory experience in a childcare setting is desirable.

Main duties of the job

Supporting the Team Leader, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the care of all children who use the crche and in delivering that care, in accordance with current policies and procedures. In the absence of the Team Leader, they will be expected to manage the allocation of staff, to ensure adequate coverage in line with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) ratios and for the direction of staff, in order to meet the requirements of the service supervision.

They will be responsible for the supervision of staff and of children's activities whilst at the Crche and have the flexibility to perform any other duties as required.

Qualified to Level 3 or above, with a recognised childcare qualification, the successful candidate will need to have a good level of general education. Experience of childcare in a crche, day care or nursery setting is an essential requirement and previous experience in a supervisory capacity would be beneficial.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
