Job summary
We are looking for a motivated, compassionate and reliable Nursing Support Worker to join our dynamic Community Nursing Teams based in Pembroke Dock, District Nursing Team. You will work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality nursing care to people in their own homes, residential facilities and community settings.
This is a permanent position working over a 7-day period, including weekends and bank holidays, covering an 8am-6pm service.
This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to patients and their families by supporting independence, promoting wellbeing and helping people remain safely at home.
Due to the rural area public transport is limited. The ability to travel within geographical area to meet the needs of the service are required.

Main duties of the job
As a Band 3 Nursing Support Worker, you will:
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care under the direction of Registered Nurses.
- Assist with wound care, venepuncture, pressure area care, catheter care and other delegated clinical tasks aligned with your competencies.
- Support patients with activities of daily living, including personal care, nutrition, hydration and mobility.
- Accurately document care in line with NHS Wales and Hywel Dda UHB policies.
- Record observations and care interventions.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
- Travel within the local community to visit patients.

- Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW).
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting for example the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) .
