We're currently have an opportunity for a highly motivated, driven and passionate Physiotherapist to join a dynamic Critical Care and Surgical Physiotherapy team in Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen. The Critical Care and Surgical Physiotherapy team provide rehabilitation to a wide range of patients who have been critically unwell, required a surgical procedure, have been medically unwell or as part of the Major Trauma Network pathway. We play a pivotal role in a patient's journey from critical care to home by linking with other members of the multidisciplinary team, attending board rounds and providing holistic patient centred care.

The post holder will work closely with inpatient and community colleagues, local MDT and community services, in order to maximise patient outcomes. Innovative practice and service development is encouraged and supported.

The post holder will be required to participate in the provision of on call respiratory service and future developments in 7 day working.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly in the acute setting across surgical, medical wards and Critical Care. The post holder will be expected to be an autonomous practitioner providing specialist assessment clinical reasoning skills and managing complex caseloads daily. The caseload will consist of complex respiratory, Major Trauma Network, medical and critical care rehabilitation patients.

The role includes the opportunity to provide respiratory teaching to staff members to upskill them to participate in the on call respiratory service. It also offers the opportunity to provide supervision to support workers, Band 5's and students alike.

As part of the role, you will require extensive experience and expertise in the principles, standards and delivery of inpatient rehabilitation with demonstrable knowledge of managing a complex caseloads. The team is committed to providing a quality, comprehensive and sustainable service for our patients.

The post holder will be required to have the skills in order to participate in the respiratory On-call service. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
