Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join the current team on a permanent basis in Bronglais General Hospital in Aberystwyth.

You will support the Sister Sister and deputise when required to ensure that care is delivered to a consistently high standard.

This position is ideal for a Nurse seeking to develop strong leadership skills while providing high-quality care to patients undergoing Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy.

Main duties of the job

The Cancer Treatment Day Unit at Bronglais General Hospital delivers day case anti-cancer treatment, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, to people affected by both an oncological and haematological malignancy. The cancer treatment day unit is located on the Leri Cancer Unit, which opened in May 2025.

The successful applicant will have experience in oncology, haematology and systemic anti-cancer treatment administration.

Most importantly the successful applicant will be an experienced nurse who can evidence credible management and leadership skills. We are looking for a registered nurse who can be adaptive, work autonomously and is keen to develop. Opportunities for learning at masters level, including non-medical prescribing, will be available to the successful applicants.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
