This is an exciting opportunity to join the Acute Physician/SDEC Team at Glangwili General Hospital. Applications are invited from efficient and suitably qualified individuals for the post of a part time Band 3 Clinical Secretary, within the Acute Physician/SDEC Team based at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen on a fixed term basis to September 2026.

Main duties of the job

Working 26.25 hours per week, the successful candidate will be required to support the delivery of a comprehensive and quality secretarial service to the Consultants and their teams and support the Medical Secretaries.

You will undertake a wide-range of duties including receipt and distribution of mail, audio transcription, and the typing of highly sensitive letters and reports, maintaining confidentiality at all times, in addition to operation of the Health Board's patient database system. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent organisation skills and be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work. You must be able to work on your own initiative, use tact and diplomacy where appropriate and possess excellent communication skills.

Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and E-Mail, coupled with proven secretarial skills (including audio typing skills)is essential.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable, but not essential.
