Hywel Dda University Health Board

Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist in Vascular Access

The closing date is 13 January 2026

Job summary

This is a new position and an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse with a passion for using advanced skills in vascular access to support people requiring treatment for cancer.

The successful applicant will already have experience in placing central venous access devices such as peripherally inserted central catheters and will be responsible for scoping out opportunities to build a community of practice, overseeing the training and competencies of colleagues.

The postholder will build on already established areas of practice within Hywel Dda University Health Board, overseeing policy development, good governance and educational packages while maintaining their own practice, and developing further expertise in the speciality.

The post holder will build on learning both locally and nationally and identify opportunities to expand the Vascular Access Service across other clinical pathways, expanding on the community of practice model and providing governance and boundaries to colleagues in the community.
