Senior Department Administrator, Cardio-Respiratory

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity within the cardio-respiratory diagnostic team at Glangwili Hospital, for an administrator with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. The post holder will work with the administrative co-ordinator and admin team, booking cardiac and respiratory diagnostic investigations and cardiac procedures, delivering services efficiently and to the highest standards.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, as communicating sensitively with patients and colleagues is essential. An understanding of the departments core work, patient clinical pathways and experience using hospital systems would be beneficial. However, an enthusiasm for the provision of high-quality services, eagerness to learn and develop, and excellent organisational skills to prioritise work and meet deadlines is highly regarded.

The role will be based on the Glangwili General Hospital site. The hours will be worked between Monday and Friday and between 8am-6pm, with potential options for a 4 or 5 day working week.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will undertake a wide range of duties including:

  • Registering referrals, booking appointments, and recording outcomes for cardiac and respiratory diagnostic investigations and appointments.
  • Facilitating the delivery of timely care, by ensuring lists clinic schedules are maximised.
  • Responding to patient and staff enquiries by phone, email and in person.
  • General administrative support of day-to-day service operations.
