Bank Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician

Job summary

We are seeking experienced and motivated Pharmacy Technicians to join our Bank Staff Team within the Health Board. This flexible role offers the opportunity to work across various pharmacy service areas, supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe, and cost-effective Medicines Management.

As a Bank Pharmacy Technician, you will provide specialised pharmacy support to patients, pharmacy colleagues, healthcare professionals. You will be deployed as required across different settings, including dispensary, ward-based services, contributing to the smooth running of the department and ensuring continuity of care.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include:

  • Support Pharmacy Services across dispensary, ward-based areas, ensuring safe and efficient handling of medicines.
  • Dispensing and Supply of medicines in accordance with legal, professional, and organisational standards.
  • Ward-Based Support to clinical teams, including medicines reconciliation, top-ups, and patient counselling where appropriate.
  • Maintain Accurate Records and documentation in line with departmental procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide Technical Advice and Support to pharmacy colleagues, healthcare professionals, and patients.
  • Ensure Compliance with Health Board policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures acquired through training Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice or NVQ 3 and BTEC or equivalent in pharmaceutical science
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Accredited Checker Pharmacy Technician. (ACPT)
  • Accredited Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician. (MMPT)

Desirable

  • Clinical supervisor training
  • PWDS Pharmacy Medicines Optimisation Training Programme (PMOTP) - Unit 3 Clinical Prioritisation or equivalent.
