Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maternity Support Worker to join our dedicated Maternity Team within Hywel Dda University Health Board.
This role is based at Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth on Gwenllian Ward.
As a valued member of the team, you will work alongside midwives and other health care professionals to provide high-quality care for women, babies and their families. The role will involve supporting midwives in their daily activities, assisting with personal and clinical care, and helping to ensure a safe , compassionate, and positive experience for all who use our maternity service.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for assisting and caring for women within the maternity.
There are full and part time hours available and will include night shifts and weekends.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject Or Equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role which is gained through experience and worked based training/short courses.
- Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW).
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting for example the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Experience

- Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care.
