Job summary

There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to be a Professional and Practice Development Nurse within Hywel Dda University Health Board. This is a permanent, part time position of 22.5 hours.

We are looking for a motivated Registered Nurse to join the 3 other Professional and Practice Development Nurses across our 4 acute hospital sites, under the Nursing Professional Standards Team.

This Professional and Practice Development Nurse working patterns will be flexible, which can be discussed at interview.

There will be an opportunity to negotiate retaining clinical hours within a relevant clinical setting if required.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the wider Nursing Professional Standards Team, you will be working closely with Corporate Nursing Team. You are required to contribute towards the development of nursing practice that meets the needs of patients, their families and the organisation.

Previous experience as a mentor or involvement with developing and delivering training and support is essential.Applicants will need to demonstrate effective facilitation skills that have achieved proven patient care improvements, and contributed towards the on-going professional and practice development of others.The post holder will need to communicate and work effectively with all grades and disciplines of staff. The ability to prioritise workload, think creatively to support innovation and have excellent organisational skills are very important for this role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
