Job summary
To provide clinical leadership and expert psychiatric skills in the care of the older adult population of Ceredigion and to direct the care of those admitted to the Older Adult Mental Health ward on site. The post holder will work autonomously in the main but will be able to draw upon advice and support from Consultant colleagues and will have a named Responsible Clinician for detained patients.
Main duties of the job
To provide:
- Expert senior clinical decision making
- Clinical leadership for both community and in patient teams
- Supervision of resident medical staff
- Support of trainee advanced and non-medical practitioners
- Teaching on ad hoc and formal basis
- A regular weekly presence in ward and community team meetings
- A regular schedule of outpatient clinics and home visits
- A collaborative approach with our supportive senior management colleagues
- To explore special interests as agreed in job planning
