If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Nursing Informatics team as a Senior Nurse Clinical Informatics.

This is a pivotal leadership role in the ongoing digital transformation providing clinical leadership and operational support for the ambitious development, implementation and optimisation of digital clinical systems, including e-Flow, e-Obs, and Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA).

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Assistant Director of Nursing, Head of Nursing and Lead Clinical Informatics Nurse in leading the planning processes needed to achieve the strategic aims of the Nursing and Midwifery Professional Standards and Nursing Workforce Corporate Team.

They will work closely with senior members of the Executive Team and Heads of Nursing across the health board, leading on a range of capital projects and related service improvement programmes for nursing. Examples of such projects are the Clinical informatics programmes such as the implementation of the digital Wales Nursing Care Record (WNCR), Safecare and e-prescribing.

They will be a key member of the corporate nursing team supporting all aspect of nursing service modernisation and supporting service change aligned to the Annual Plan, the Integrated Medium-Term Plan and the Transforming Clinical Services Project.

They will have considerable ability to organise their own workload and act on their own initiative to deliver the delegated project aims. They will advise organisationally on delivering informatics programmes that involve nurses and midwives throughout the service.
