An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the well-established dynamic dietetic team at Hywel Dda which holds a high profile both within the wider therapies team and across the Health Board. We fully support continuing professional development, appraisal and supervision and actively enable this with protected sessions in individualised job plans.
This is a key role for a lead in Diabetes Dietetics involving both clinical and leadership responsibilities. This role offers a unique opportunity for someone with a passion to improve health outcomes across Hywel Dda and a commitment to develop and learn. Main duties of the job
Deliver expert level clinical Diabetes Dietetics, managing a complex caseload of patients with Diabetes including those individuals looking to achieve diabetes remission.
o Manage a diabetes caseload, informing multi-disciplinary care (inc. Primary care) and provide expert support and clinical supervision fordietitians / support workers / students / administrators Health Board wide.o Clinically lead the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of best practice in relation to adult Type 2 Diabetes dieteticsHealth Board wide.o Work as an integral member of the adult diabetes multi-professional leadership team, driving excellent nutritional care through evidence based practice.o Ensure seamless service planning and delivery from promotion of service, recruitment of service users and evaluation of intervention.o Clinically lead the development and delivery of education and training in relation to diabetes working across Multi profession platformsand multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) to support optimal effective diabetes care.o Compassionately and effectively line manage members of the diabetes dietetic team.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

- Accredited post graduate study relevant to Diabetes to master's level or equivalent
- Completed Clinical Supervisory skills training
- Advanced clinical knowledge within the specialist field of Type 2 Diabetes / Diabetes Remission and dietetics acquired through specialist training or equivalent clinical experience e.g. Counterweight Plus Programme
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply evidence-based methodology to support improvement, and service delivery.

- Completed Formal Motivational interviewing training
- Supplementary prescriber status
