Job summary
Are you a registered health care professional with a proven track record of operational clinical practice and implementing or sustaining change? Are you looking for a new challenge and interested in playing a key role in the implementation of the digital strategy within Hywel Dda University Health Board (HDUHB)?
If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Clinical Informatics team.You will play a crucial role in integrating clinical expertise with information technology to enhance patient care and streamline healthcare processes through supporting the implementation and optimisation of digital clinical systems. You will play a key role in planning staff engagement and providing training and support for all staff groups--before, during, and after implementation. You will also be expected to actively promote digital engagement across the organisation and communicate the benefits of digital working.
This role will involve intensive periods of work, particularly during 'go live' phases. The ability to work clinical shift patterns over a 7-day/24-hour period is essential. The post holder must also demonstrate flexibility to meet service needs and be able to travel regularly across all Health Board sites.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Informatics Health Care Professional will assist the Health Board/Trust in the development and implementation of informatics projects, such as electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA). The post holder as an experienced registered Health Care Professional and will be accountable to the Health Board's Informatics LeadNurse.
The post holder will assist with decision-making and support the leadership and development of the standardisation and digitalisation of clinical documentation and processes, working collaboratively across the Health Board and NHS Wales with patients, carers, partners and professionals. The aim of the digitisation programmes is to improve patient care, experience and outcomes through the development of high quality agile information, systems and technologies, applying the 'Once for Wales' principles where relevant.
The principal objective for the post is to assist in the transformation of health service delivery, promoting new ways of working utilising information technology to improve access to clinical information and knowledge to enhance shared decision making regarding patient care. The post holder will assist the Informatics Lead Nurse inrepresenting the organisation in setting the strategic direction and operationalisation across the health board and NHS Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
