Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Parkinson's Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our team in Pembrokeshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled nurse with expertise in Parkinson's disease to develop and enhance the local service, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care for those living with the condition.
As a Band 7 Parkinson's CNS, you will expected to provide expert clinical assessment, management, and support to patients with Parkinson's disease and related conditions and also act as a key point of contact for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, offering advice, education, and coordination of care.
The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care pathways and best-practice management and be part of a team leading on service development initiatives to enhance Parkinson's care in Pembrokeshire. Also, deliver specialist training and education to staff across primary and secondary care settings.
To apply you will need to be a Registered Nurse (NMC), with experience in Parkinson's disease management and advanced clinical skills, including non-medical prescribing (or willingness to work towards this) and be passionate about service improvement and patient-centred care. You will need to demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and teaching abilities and an ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
An experienced clinical practitioner with a high level of skill and theoretical knowledge.
The purpose of this role is to
Provide specialist nursing care, advice, guidance and leadership, and to take responsibility for a specialist nursing service.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidenced-based nursing care.Provide expert advice and clinical practice.
Work autonomously and manage own workload as a lead specialist in their area.
Provide specialist education and training to Staff
Lead and manage a team of specialist nurses
Work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services and the quality of care delivered.
Contribute to the development and planning of clinical services within the specialist field.
Demonstrate the Health Board's values and ensure that others demonstrate the same values.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
