Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse Band 6, on Bryngofal Ward, based at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli. Bryngofal is a 16 bedded acute adult mental health inpatient ward.
We are looking for a flexible, highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team. Our team aims to provide excellent, person-centred care in an environment where learning and reflective practice are encouraged and fostered.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision and to teach and develop other nursing and non nursing staff. This will involve the regular supervision and appraisal of staff nurses and undertaking a clinical lead on the unit in support of the Ward Manager.
Main duties of the job
Outstanding communication, leadership and documentation skills will be essential for this challenging yet rewarding role. In return support, training and regular supervision will be given.
The post holder will be expected to take charge in the absence of the Ward Manager who has overall continuing responsibility.
