Job summary

The Organisation Development (OD) Department plays a prominent role in supporting and enabling the delivery of the Workforce, Organisational Development and Education Strategy 2020-2030. The strategy is aligned to Hywel Dda University Health Board's (HDUHB) Health and Care Strategy, 'A Healthier Mid and West Wales' and outlines the future vision for our workforce over the next 10 years.

This is such an exciting time for our team as we continue to grow our internal coaching network.

You will join a team that is friendly, supportive, creative and dynamic, who are passionate and committed to making a difference to our leaders, their teams and the organisation.

We are looking for a qualified coach who has a real passion for coaching, an understanding of coaching in an organisational setting and who has drive and commitment to grow our internal network that will support our staff throughout their careers. This network has a positive impact for our staff and organisation and we need someone who wants this as much as we do!

  • Role model a coaching style of leadership
  • Further embed the coaching culture across our organisation
  • Demonstrate the value being added to the organisation by the coaching network
  • Be an effective coach with your own caseload but also co-ordinate the network
  • Offer our leaders, staff and coaches' a trusted space to pause, learn and reflect
  • Confidently and enthusiastically deliver our internal coaching training programme for leaders

About us

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:

Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;

Seven community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;

48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

  • Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject area i.e. sociology, people management or equivalent knowledge & experience
  • ILM L5 Coaching qualification
  • Knowledge of Organisational development strategies
  • Ability to work remotely / virtually and use necessary technology i.e teams
  • Relevant CPD to postgraduate diploma level

Desirable

  • Evidence of relevant CPD
  • Teaching / training qualification or relevant experience
  • ILM L7 Coaching Supervision Qualification (or willingness to work towards)

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of delivering coaching within an organisation.
  • Experience coordinating, and liaising with a range of departments/leaders/managers/staff
  • Experience delivering training/facilitation of groups
  • Experience of working within the NHS, and understanding of complexities of the organisation, including of structures and cultures.

Desirable

  • Experience working with a wide range of staffing groups and levels, including senior managers and clinical leaders.
