Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Support Worker to deliver high standard of cost-effective nursing care, as part of a nursing team in support of and under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or a Registered Operating Department Practitioner's (ODP).

You will communicate effectively at all times and in conjunction with other team members contribute to maintaining the theatre department philosophy.

Main duties of the job

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Support Worker Band 2 within the Operating Theatre Department at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen.

Full time and part time hours will be considered.

Applicants must be enthusiastic and hard-working individuals who are looking to play an integral part in the Peri-operative services.

The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team of practitioners, providing support to the registered staff. Applicants must possess/be prepared to work toward the NVQ - Level II Care Qualification, and / or have previous experience in a caring environment.

A flexible approach to working and a caring nature, together with effective organisational and communication skills are essential. Hours of duty will include standard internal shift rotation and an on-call commitment.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
