Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Family Counsellor to join the Team within the Children's Palliative Care Team in partnership with Carmarthenshire Bereavement Support Service. The successful candidate will provide counselling support to palliative children and young people (CYP), aged 0-18 years and their families who are living with a life limiting condition. You will need to hold a relevant Diploma in Counselling, hold accreditation status with the BACP and engage in regular monthly supervision as per BACP guidelines.
Counselling will be offered within a variety of clinical and community settings throughout the three counties of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Counsellor who has experience working with children and young people with life limiting conditions along with their families. Experience of working systemically and facilitating individual and group work is essential.
The family counsellor will be a fundamental member of the pilot project. This will be through extraction of evidence-based data obtained throughout the life of the project to support the ongoing provision and delivery of this exceptional post.
This is an exciting time to join our team as we continue to develop paediatric palliative care services within Hywel Dda and the All Wales Managed Clinical Network.
