Job summary
The post holder is identified as a clinical expert and is required to have a high clinical profile ensuring the provision of effective and efficient care. At this level the post holder is expected to work as a highly skilled senior practitioner and to have expert knowledge.
The primary focus of the role is to work as an advanced, autonomous practitioner providing patient-centred clinical care, encompassing the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment of patients. The Primary Care Advanced Practitioner will work across the 4 pillars of practice - Leadership & Management, Clinical, Education, Research and Development, as outlined in the Framework for Advanced Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional Practice in Wales 2010 (FANMAHPPW).
The post is intended to provide improved outcomes for patients by improving timeliness and consistency of care.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Primary Care Advanced Nurse Practitioner in one of the practices managed by Hywel Dda University Health Board which is Ashgrove Surgery located in Llanelli in Carmarthenshire.
This progressive and challenging role offers the post holder the opportunity to provide high quality, patient-centred care in a general practice setting.
The post supports and promotes the role of the Senior Practitioner through innovation, clinical skills and diagnosis, treatment, review and referral.
Llanelli is a very diverse set of communities in urban, semi-rural and rural settings. The Cluster Network in Llanelli serves a population of approximately 66,755, which is the second largest in Hywel Dda University Health Board which is served by a mix of urban and rural practices.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
