Job summary

This post is an excellent opportunity an experienced OT to join our multidisciplinary community mental Health team based at Brynmair Clinic, Llanelli, combining community work with providing in-reach services to in-patient units when necessary.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with clients with complex mental health needs across a variety of service areas and will fully endorse the recovery approach to intervention. He/she will be dynamic and innovative in their practice and be able to provide examples of client-centred care.

Mental Health Services are currently going through transition within the transforming mental health agenda with a view to tailoring services to meet the needs of the service user. The service endorses the recovery approach and provides opportunities to develop close links with other service providers. The successful candidate will be able to take advantage of CPD opportunities and be able to contribute to shaping services of the future. Regular clinical supervision and peer support during clinical practice meetings and in service training sessions are seen as key to promoting professional development.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to act as care coordinator under the Mental Health Measure Wales for those patients with Occupational Therapy needs.

In collaboration with the patient, the post holder will develop outcome focused care and treatment plans, that work with a persons strengths and preferences to manage symptoms of and aid recovery from periods of mental ill health.

Deliver both individual and group based outcome focused interventions. including recovery though activity. Complete occupational focused standardised assessment tools to measure outcomes of intervention. Participate in developing and sustaining a high quality service provision, participating and engage in clinical practice group meetings and sharing best practice with the team.

To provide supervision and appropriate delegation to junior staff.
