Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Specialist Palliative Care Team within Community and Primary Care in Pembrokeshire. Applications are invited from efficient and suitably qualified individuals for the post of a part time, permanent Band 4 Medical Secretary based in Sealyham Building at Withybush Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Working 30 hours per week, the successful candidate will be required to support the delivery of a comprehensive and quality secretarial service to the Consultant(s), speciality doctor and allied clinical team e.g. clinical nurse specialists.

Reporting to the Consultant or Nurse Specialist, you will undertake a wide-range of duties including receipt and distribution of mail, audio transcription, and the typing of highly sensitive letters and reports, maintaining confidentiality at all times, in addition to operation of the Health Board's patient database systems. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent organisation skills and be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work. You must be able to work on your own initiative, use tact and diplomacy where appropriate and possess excellent communication skills.

Previous secretarial experience is essential for this post and experience in transcribing would be beneficial.
