Hywel Dda University Health Board has an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Lead Physiotherapist in Acute Medicine & Rehabilitation. The post is based in Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthenshire.
The post holder will need to be highly specialised in acute medicine conditions, chronic respiratory conditions and rehabilitation, with an ability to train and develop their team. They will also be supporting the delivery of rehabilitation across the acute medical wards including Clinical Decisions.
This will also include falls, frailty and Major Trauma Network patients.
Whilst the main focus of the role will be based in Glangwili Hospital, there is an expectation for a flexible approach to work as required.
They will need strong leadership, organisational and team management skills, with a passion for their clients and the desire for service improvement and transformation following national guidelines. They will be aware of the evidence base for evaluation through audit, clinical effectiveness and research activity. They will be an active member of the clinical leadership group within Hywel Dda University Health Board.
The post holder will be required to participate in the provision of on call respiratory service and future developments in 7 day working.

Main duties of the job
As a versatile postgraduate, you will need to have a strong clinical grounding in acute medical conditions, chronic respiratory conditions, older people rehabilitation, expertise in frailty syndrome, neurological conditions, cardio respiratory conditions, MSK problems and a good understanding of community rehabilitation services / setting.
You will have extensive experience and expertise in the principles, standards and delivery of inpatient rehabilitation with demonstrable knowledge of managing a complex patient caseloads.
You will need the ability and skills to work autonomously and alongside members of the team.
The successful applicant will provide clinical leadership, specialist expertise, supervision and education to Physiotherapy staff, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Rehabilitation Assistants/Frailty Support Workers, and students.
We are looking for an individual with the interpersonal skills to network with acute and community colleagues to co-ordinate a responsive, seamless service across pathways and sectors. You will have organisational ability and a commitment to service development by developing the evidence base for evaluation through audit, clinical effectiveness and research activity. As appropriate, there will be an expectation to deputise for senior management.
