You will join colleagues in a very dynamic and forward looking Multi Disciplinary Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The post will be a 6 session post based in Carmarthenshire.
The S-CAMHS is part of the Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Directorate and there has been a significant investment in enhancing existing provision and developing new services across the HDUHB over the last 24 months, including
- Single Point of Referral system that provides comprehensive referral screening Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
- Dedicated 24/7 SCAMHS Crisis Team providing a crisis response & intervention service (CATT - Crisis Assessment & Intervention Team)
- Integrated Primary Mental Health Service
- Early Intervention Psychosis service for those with an at risk presentation aged 14 - 25
- Tier 3 Eating Disorder provision with dedicated dietician time
- Tier 3 Forensic provision
- S-CAMHS Substance misuse service that works closely with other providers to meet the mental Health needs of those C&YP who present with substance misuse difficulties
- An integrated multi-disciplinary ASD service (S-CAMHS & Child Health) - Integrated ND Service
- Enhancement of the provision of the two dedicated age appropriate crisis beds for children and young people within HDUHB, including the pilot initiatives to develop a centralised crisis hub and Sanctuary centres to support Children and Young People in crisis
- The S-CAMHS Service has fully implemented the CAPA Service Model across all service areas
Main duties of the job
To provide and support the further development of the Integrated ND & LD service for our community with the clinical responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness.
All clinical staff are accountable and responsible for their own clinical competence and should limit their actions to those for which they are deemed competent. Clinical staff are also required to comply with the requirements of their professional organisation regarding supervision.
As a senior employee of the Health Board the post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Health Board's patients.
Integral to the responsibilities of the post are the following requirements:-
To sustain and develop teaching and research wherever appropriate
To conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Health Board's service plans
Core clinical expertise in S-CAMHS
Experience and knowledge of Neuropsychiatry and Learning Disabilities
Leadership and team building skills as well as working as part of a multidisciplinary & multi-agency teams
Supporting and training multidisciplinary & multi-agency teams
Delivering care in the community alongside primary health care and social care teams
Providing persuasive strategic advice to LHB's and Social Services
Departments within the Strategic framework of the S-CAMHS Service
