The role of Principal Clinical Psychologist Clinical Governance /Research and Audit Lead within Psychology AMH is a full time, fixed term post (1 year) based in the community.
The responsibilities include ensuring robust clinical governance systems and processes are maintained and reviewed as well as leading on evaluation/research and system audits. The job plan includes acting as Senior Resource for Carmarthenshire CMHT's and direct clinical work within the community.
In addition, the successful applicant will have a responsibility to supervise clinical placements to those completing doctoral level training. Strong supervision structures are in place with successful applicants being encouraged to develop skills in therapeutic modalities relative to their role.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder is the Principal Psychologist Deputy Head (Community) Psychology Adult Mental Health Services providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment.Special emphasis will be placed on responsibility for Clinical Governance/Research and Audit Lead and the training and supervision of staff teams.To ensure the systematic provision of a high quality highly specialist psychology service to clients presenting to the community service, providing a lead role in specialist psychological assessment and treatment for patients with severe mental health problems and overseeing the specialist assessment and treatment of others.
As a major part of the job, to be responsible for the systematic development of training and clinical supervision for staff teams across the LHB, delegating the provision of training and supervision to others to undertake as appropriate.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Training also to specifically include models of psychopathology and two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis as practised within the field of clinical psychology.
- Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health
- Evidence of contributing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
- Specialist skills in CBT
- Knowledge and skills in the treatment of psychosis
