Job summary

As Clinical Supervisor for vaccination and sampling, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of vaccinations and sampling. Tests and vaccinations will be carried out in a variety of settings including vaccination / testing centres, patient's homes, residential and nursing homes, clinic and hospital settings. They will manage the day to day operation of Testing and Immunisation services, ensuring supervisory support of the staff within the Team.

The post holder will support the Vaccination and Sampling Lead in the development of a high quality immunisation service across all three localities through the implementation of a Local Delivery Plan to achieve the Welsh Government's Key performance indicators.

The post holder will have a broad understanding of the schedule.

The vacancy is based in Ysgol Trewen, Cwm Cou, with expectation to travel health board wide to cover other sites as required with the ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Vaccination and Sampling Lead Nurse to deliver the Vaccination and Sampling Agenda across Hywel Dda University Health Board.

Be able to manage workload as an autonomous practitioner. Be responsible for planning and organising own day to day workload, ensuring all tasks are carried out within appropriate timescales, prioritising and making adjustments to tasks being undertaken as priorities change, including any outbreak situation.

Liaise with General Practitioners, managers, clinicians and administrative staff, communicating sensitive and confidential patient information, reports and/or immunisation uptake data. Provide specialist advice relating to immunisation and vaccination Programmes to other health professionals, colleagues and the general public.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
